Best time to visit
- Weekday late mornings and early afternoons are the calmest. Around noon it’s usually not too busy, and 11:00 opening makes it an easy first stop after arriving at Centraal.
- Saturday afternoon is the peak, with crowds usually highest around 15:00.
- On sunny days the terrace fills quickly because there are only a few seats. Arrive early or be ready to sit inside.
- In the evening it becomes a proper bar, with music and a livelier crowd as the Zeedijk fills up.
Weekend nights: arrive before 01:00
Google lists closing time as 03:00 on Friday and Saturday, but Amsterdam has earlier weekend rules for bars in the core Wallen area. Under the city’s weekend closing-time decision, bars in the designated streets must close at 02:00, alcohol-serving venues can’t admit new guests after 01:00, and terraces close at 01:00 from 1 March to 1 November. The rules run until 1 April 2027. Whether they cover this exact address depends on the city’s street map, so plan to arrive before 01:00 on weekends and call ahead if you’re counting on a late drink.
How to get to Our Corner Cafe Bar
Our Corner is at the northern, station end of the Zeedijk, so walking is the easiest way to get there from most of the city centre.
- From Amsterdam Centraal Station (about 450 metres, 5 to 6 minutes on foot): take the main exit on the city side, cross toward Prins Hendrikkade and head left toward the domed Basilica of St Nicholas. The Zeedijk starts just before the church, next to the old wooden house of In ‘t Aepjen at Zeedijk 1. Follow the street a short way to number 21, beside the Kolksluis bridge over the Oudezijds Kolk.
- By metro: get off at Nieuwmarkt (lines 51, 53 and 54) and walk north up the Zeedijk for about 5 minutes. You’ll pass Café ‘t Mandje at number 63 on the way.

- By bike: the Zeedijk is narrow and packed with pedestrians, so lock up at a proper rack or use the bike parking at Centraal Station and walk the last few minutes.

Rules to know in De Wallen
The Zeedijk is part of De Wallen, the old centre that includes the Red Light District. Smoking cannabis in the street has been banned there, and on Dam Square, Damrak and Nieuwmarkt, since May 2023, with a €100 fine. Drinking alcohol in the street is also banned, so keep your beer at the bar or on the terrace. Don’t photograph sex workers or their windows.
