Olympic Hotel Amsterdam at a glance
Olympic Hotel Amsterdam is a four-star, 309-room hotel at IJsbaanpad 12 in Amsterdam Zuid, right beside the Olympic Stadium and the Stadiongracht canal. It suits travellers who want a quieter base outside the tourist core, a car park in the building and a direct tram to Centraal Station. It is also a practical choice for Olympic Stadium events, Zuidas meetings and trade fairs at RAI Amsterdam.

Who the hotel suits best
- Stadium event-goers: you can walk back to your room after a match, race or concert at the Olympic Stadium instead of queuing for transport.
- Drivers: the A10 ring road is about five minutes away, and the garage is inside the building, so you can take the lift straight up with your luggage.
- Business travellers: there are five meeting rooms, and the hotel puts RAI Amsterdam about 10 minutes away by bike, with Zuidas also close by.
- Families and small groups: some rooms sleep three or four, children up to 3 stay free, and cots are available on request.
- Runners and active travellers: running routes follow the water around the stadium, and the gym looks out over the Olympic Stadium.
It is a weaker fit if you want to step outside and be among the canals straight away. The canal ring is a tram, bus or bike ride away, so you will use public transport most days.
Rooms and facilities
All 309 rooms have free Wi-Fi. Room types go from standard doubles to family rooms, and some rooms look out over the Olympic Stadium or the canal. You can ask for a view when you book, but the hotel only promises to try, depending on availability. If you need to work, ask for a room on the quieter side of the building. These rooms have a desk.
Gym, hot tubs and sauna
The gym has modern machines and free weights, and guests can use it at no charge. The wellness area is small: two hot tubs overlooking the water and a dry sauna. Use is included in your stay but runs on booked time slots, so reserve one early. The area is open to hotel guests only, swimwear is required and the minimum age is 18.
Breakfast, restaurant and bar
Breakfast is a buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt, pancakes, eggs cooked to order, bread rolls and spreads. Children under 4 eat free, and children up to 12 pay a reduced price. In the evening, Restaurant CINQ serves Chinese dishes alongside international classics, either as a buffet or as a three-course menu. The bar opens in the afternoon and stays open into the evening. Both take debit and credit cards, and you generally cannot pay in cash.
Meeting rooms and group bookings
There are five meeting rooms with daylight and audiovisual equipment. They range from 25 to 107 m², and some can be joined together. Meeting packages can include catering. For conferences, the hotel can hold a block of rooms until a set cut-off date, and each attendee books through a group link. For groups of eight or more rooms, contact the groups team at [email protected]. For meetings, contact [email protected].
Location and what is nearby
The hotel sits in Stadionbuurt, a quiet, green part of Amsterdam Zuid full of sports fields and water. Vondelpark is about 2.5 km away. Museumplein and Leidseplein are a short tram, bus or bike ride. The hotel rents bikes at the front desk for €20 per day, subject to availability, which pairs well with our Amsterdam cycling routes.
How to get to Olympic Hotel Amsterdam
From Schiphol Airport
The simplest option is bus 397, the Amsterdam Airport Express. It leaves from platform B17 at Schiphol Plaza and stops at Olympisch Stadion, a short walk from the hotel. The hotel says the ride takes about 15 minutes, and a single ticket costs €6.50 in 2026. You can also tap in with OVpay or an OV-chipkaart.
To the city centre
Tram 24 stops at IJsbaanpad, the hotel’s own street, and at Olympisch Stadion, and runs to Centraal Station. Heading into town, bus 397 continues to Museumplein, the Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein. Metro lines 50 and 51 stop at Amstelveenseweg, about a five-minute walk from the Olympic Stadium area. Check a journey planner for current times before you travel.
By car and parking
From any direction, follow signs for A10 Amsterdam Zuid/Amstelveen and take exit S108. At the end of the exit, turn right towards the Olympic Stadium, then turn left onto IJsbaanpad at the next traffic lights. The hotel is on your right at the roundabout.
- Hotel garage: on the second floor of the building, €25 per night, with a limited number of spaces given out as they become free. The hotel’s pages disagree on whether you can reserve a space, so ask when you book.
- EV charging: four spaces have charging points, and you need your own charging pass to use them.
- Frans Otten Stadium car park: about 100 m from the hotel, €17.50 per day. You can book it in advance with your licence plate, and some hotel packages include this parking along with breakfast.
Booking tips
- Booking on the official website takes at least 5% off automatically. The hotel describes its free-cancellation deadline in two different ways (up to 18:00 on the day you arrive, or up to 24 hours before), so check the terms for your rate before you pay.
- Book early for large RAI trade fairs, such as IBC (held 11–14 September in 2026), and for major Olympic Stadium events.
- Ask for a stadium or canal view, or a quiet room for working, when you book.
- Two families travelling together should call or email reservations to secure adjacent family rooms with a connecting door, because the hotel says this is hard to guarantee online.
To check rates or ask a question, use the official Olympic Hotel website, call +31 20 240 50 55 or email [email protected].

Frequently asked questions
Does Olympic Hotel Amsterdam allow pets or smoking?
No. The hotel’s general policies state that pets are not allowed and smoking is not permitted.
Is breakfast included in the room rate?
It depends on the rate you choose. Some packages, such as the room-with-parking package, include breakfast. Children under 4 eat breakfast free, and children up to 12 pay a reduced price.
Can I pay cash in the restaurant or bar?
Generally not. The restaurant and bar accept debit and credit cards, and the hotel says cash payments are generally not possible.
Is there a minimum age to stay at Olympic Hotel Amsterdam?
The hotel lists a minimum age of 18 in its general policies, and the sauna and hot tubs are 18+. Families with children are welcome, so the rule appears to apply to the guest booking or checking in. Confirm with the hotel if a traveller under 18 will be staying without an adult.
Can I check in early or store my luggage?
Early check-in and late check-out are sometimes possible, depending on how full the hotel is, and direct bookings get priority. The hotel suggests calling a day ahead. Luggage storage before and after your stay is free.
