Amsterdam puts more of its life on the pavement than almost any city its size. From May through October, terraces spill onto streets, squares and canalsides — and a stretch of decent weather in shoulder season is enough to fill them again. This archive collects the Amsterdam Local Gems venues with proper outdoor seating: canal-facing brown-café terraces in the Jordaan, the linden-shaded courtyards of Vondelpark and Westerpark, the rooftop bars of A’DAM Toren and SkyLounge, and the spread-out restaurant terraces of De Pijp and Oud-West. Each venue page notes whether the outdoor area is heated, covered, dog-friendly, and roughly when it opens for the season.
